winter way by jacobsteel winter way by jacobsteel
Last year I painted three pix of snowy highways. All inspired by pix from Swedish surveillance cameras. All in slightly different styles. All roughly 8x10", acrylic on canvas. Here's number one in this series.

winter way by ~jacobsteel is a surprising take in a surprising medium on a common enough scene. Be amazed at the rare ability to really portray velocity in an acrylic painting. ( Featured by frail )

Wow! I just love this... it seems so abstract, yet so realistic at the same time... if that makes any sense. But just WOW! Simply amazing and beautiful! :nod: :D

before i didnt look at it much. just...... didnt like the blue, and was angry, and..... hmm! it has some depth that kinda sucks you in, i mean.. the cars, as of right now i'm staring at the redlight ones, i get caught up with 1, just "my god this looks so realistic", it's like.... it transforms to a stereoimage (uhm, like when you view with those redgreen things...). and as i look at the mountains(trees?) they also suck me into their depth.. hmm, ooddfull. don tremember any photo like that... and i dont check the analog (uhm, what i call "traditional" category) often, so i dont really see pics like this, just 99% photos really.... +fav

great piece. While the speed & movement are evident and nicely done, my first impression is one of isolation and coldness. Such terrible loneliness surrounded by the weight and numbers of a city, yet all you see are fast moving shiny surfaces and receding lights

boring orig pic.

> inspired by online surveillance cameras

oh. quite amusing.

i was thinking "dude that blue is so strong, just like badly configured light setting photos"

i think the pic should be deleted. too low rez. looks good resized 1/2 or so. not art then. even now it's too low rez.

Minimum Resolutions:
Images should be no smaller than:

- in Inches:

* 4"x6" | (6"x4")

- in Pixels:

* 288x432 | (432x288)

- in Centimeters:

* 10.16x15.24 | (15.24x10.16)

min: 432 * 288 = 124416
this pic: 425 * 337 = 143225
143225 - 124416 = 18809
18809 pixels too small

so hurry to delete this before you get a policy violation on your account
